Stability Issue With My Digital Amplifier

My apologies should I be in the incorrect thread. I am seeking some hints and tips concerning how to install a home theater system? The problem that we have is the fact my stereo receiver is sending out a hum if it's switched off which in turn causes the transmitter which I utilize for my wireless speakers to stay awake. Thus my rear loudspeakers will keep sending out this humming noise anytime I am not viewing television. I have been thinking of adding some form of switch to detach the audio link between my surround receiver and the cordless transmitter but that solution doesn't appear sophisticated. I would love any ideas.
